Help! I'm Looking For A Godly Man

Q. I am a single Christian woman looking for a relationship with a godly man. I go to church, but it’s hard to find a real man of God. I feel like the clock is ticking. How do I find one?

A. Women in Christian dating communities generally agree that finding a godly man is their main challenge, followed by pressure to have sex, and a lack of spiritual leadership from men.

Sounds like the pickin’s are slim, doesn’t it?

So, let’s approach this from another angle.

Instead of looking for a godly man, look at yourself.

Do you trust in the authority of God?

Do you really believe God loves you and has a perfect plan for you? 

When you trust in God’s sovereignty and grasp the depth of his love for you, that He has a plan, you can surrender your dating life to Him. In turn, you can break free from any pressure you’re feeling to find your guy.

Concentrate on using your singleness wisely. Go on a spiritual adventure that leads you to a deeper relationship with God. Spend time in His word privately, corporately and in small group bible studies.

Stretch your faith. Let God lead you into unexplored places of spirituality, ministry, and service. Serving others shifts focus away from self while nurturing inner kindness, thankfulness and compassion. Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone. God loves to expand our spiritual capacity.

Pray and ask God for wisdom and discernment in all things, including your dating life. Ask Him for protection over your mind and any temptation that might come.

Live and speak the truth of God in love to those around you. 

Love others with the love of Christ.

Be mindful of your character and dress. As a Christian, you’re not of this world so look and act differently in this world. Take care to walk what you talk and be salt and light in this crazy world of singleness.

I encourage you to do all that you can to get the fullness of God. Allow Him to be THE priority in your life. Women who shine with the light of Christ are beautiful from the inside, out.

The truth is that godly women attract godly men.
