The Souls Behind the Scroll

I see you.

This morning during my devotion time, I remembered a message I received a couple of days before from a woman I hadn’t heard from in years. She apologized for contacting me “out of the blue” before asking for prayer.

I call myself a Noticer and many of you are noticing things along with me through this online ministry. We pay attention to the simple things God places around us and ask, “Lord, what are You teaching me here?”

But those things dim in comparison to the people God asks us to notice. In my case, some of those are the souls behind the scroll.

I pray for those of you have joined this community, but I also pray for those who haven’t - the readers who don’t comment or let me know they are here. Perhaps you’re searching, hurting, or have questions. Maybe your faith is stretched thin.

You matter to me.

And if you’re serving in ministry, maybe you need this reminder, too.

Even if you can’t see any fruit from your labor, that doesn’t mean God isn’t working. You may never know who is watching and listening, or carrying a word you shared into a moment when God knew they would need it the most. I’ve even received a prayer request from a woman in Uganda - someone I never imagined would be reading from so far away.

The whole story of what God is doing through a ministry is never told by visible responses.

ministry, discouragement still comes, but we must return to The One whose approval matters the most.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” ~ Galatians 6:9, NIV

We serve an audience of One. We can write, speak, teach, pray and plant seeds, but only God can change hearts and transform lives.

We’re just vessels, messengers, ambassadors for Christ, trusting Him to bring fruit.

People go unnoticed all around us. They’re not looking for a long message - not even a polished answer. They just need someone to stop, listen and pray - to speak Jesus’ name into their trial, to remind them of our hope in Christ.

Maybe that person is you.

You’ve been quietly scrolling. You’re searching for God, wondering, Can He be found? The answer is, “yes!”

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13, NIV

I never want to become so busy noticing what God places around me that I miss whom God places in front of me. Because sometimes the most important Noticer Moment is a person.

So to the quiet reader who may never interact with me:

I see you.

And more importantly, God sees you.

I love you, and God loves you so much more.
